Electricity distribution network operators (Oblenergo) belonging to VS Energy Group have paid almost 1 billion hryvnia in taxes in 10 months of 2024.
VS Energy Group, which owns “Khersonoblenergo”, “Zhytomyroblenergo”, “Kirovogradoblenergo”, “Chernivtsioblenergo”, “Rivneoblenergo”, paid 936 million hryvnia in taxes and payments to the budget of Ukraine in January-October 2024.
“Our energy workers continue their heroic work in maintaining and restoring infrastructure after the devastating shelling by Russia in various regions of the country. We make our professional contribution to the stability of the Ukrainian energy sector. We fulfill our economic responsibility to the state.
The VS Energy group’s oblenergo companies would have the opportunity to make more substantial tax payments to the budget if the State Electricity and Utilities Tariff Commission (Regulator) had set fair and economically justified electricity distribution tariffs for our group’s companies. However, state authorities have been delaying this fair decision for a year and a half. At the same time, the Regulator approves tariff increases for other companies operating in the sector, thus allowing discriminatory treatment towards the VS Energy group’s companies. Officials of the Regulator’s decision-making bodies illegally continue to fail to comply with the legislation, despite the conclusions of the Regulator’s leading energy specialists, who note the need to increase the tariffs of “Khersonoblenergo”, “Zhytomiroblenergo”, “Kirovogradoblenergo”, “Chernivtsioblenergo” and “Rivneoblenergo” to an economically justified level.
